RCMP say reports of grave yard vandalism continue to raise alarms bells after another incident just outside of Fredericton.
Members of the Oromocto detachment were called in on Nov. 5 after multiple grave stones had been vandalized and knocked over at the Lower Lincoln Cemetery in Lincoln, N.B.
Police believe the alleged vandalism took place sometime between Nov. 3 and Nov. 5.
“This remains a high-priority file for the Oromocto RCMP,” said Cst. Patrick Jolin-Rodrigue in a news release.
It’s now one of several times in the last month that police were brought in to investigate grave yard vandalism.
West District RCMP received three calls for service in October after grave stones were damaged at a cemetery in Harvey, N.B.
Police in Fredericton have also been investigating a “shameful” incident at the Forest Hill Cemetery’s Royal Canadian Legion field of honour, where war veterans headstones were defaced.
Oromocto RCMP are looking to hear from the public with any information that may help further the force’s investigation.
If you witnessed suspicious activity in Lincoln between Nov. 3 and Nov. 5, you can contact the Oromocto RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
