Motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle collision east of Fredericton

Police say a 61-year-old man died over the weekend following a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle east of Fredericton.

The Oromocto RCMP responded around 2 p.m. Saturday to the collision on Route 105 in Mill Cove, N.B.

Mill Cove is 70 kilometres east of Fredericton.

Mounties said the motorcycle driver, identified as a 61-year-old man from Salmon River Road, N.B., died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

“Circumstances surrounding the collision and its cause, remain under investigation,” said Cpl. Terry Densmore of the Oromocto RCMP.

The RCMP also thanked four bystanders who performed CPR on the motorcyclist until first responders arrived.

Police said the New Brunswick Coroner’s office is assisting with the investigation. An autopsy will determine the man’s exact cause of death.
