Vandalism at graveyard, church prompt RCMP to investigate

Police have launched an investigation into a series of incidents of mischief and vandalism at a graveyard and church in Harvey, N.B.

Members of the West District RCMP received three calls for service last week in the Harvey area.

Police said two calls were about damage to gravestones at a cemetery and the third was for vandalism to a church.

“Following a subsequent investigation, police were able to obtain surveillance footage of the incidents, and have since identified two potential suspects,” Mounties said in a statement.

The RCMP said they are high-priority files and are looking for help from the public for information that may help further their investigation.

If area residents saw suspicious activity on Oct. 16, or have other information to provide, they can contact the RCMP detachment in McAdam, N.B.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
