24-year-old pedestrian dead after Moncton collision

A 24-year-old man from Bouctouche, N.B., is dead after a single-vehicle collision with a pedestrian, the New Brunswick RCMP confirmed Friday.

Codiac RCMP responded late Thursday night to a single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on the onramp of Highway 2 in Moncton.

The Moncton Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick and the New Brunswick Coroner’s office also attended the scene.

“The pedestrian died at the scene as a result of his injuries, however, the cause of the collision is still undetermined at this time,” police said.

“The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was uninjured.”

Police did not say if the driver will face charges, but noted the investigation is ongoing.
