Three people arrested in Bathurst drug raid

Three people have been arrested after police in Bathurst took down a drug trafficking circle in the community.

Local police say officers arrested a 66-year-old man and a 71-year-old man on July 7 for possessing methamphetamine and cocaine for trafficking purposes. A search warrant at a home in Bathurst also resulted in a 61-year-old woman being arrested.

Investigators say the arrests and search warrant led to seizures of a type of meth known as “Speed,” as well as cocaine, crystal meth, unidentified pills and contraband cigarettes.

Police also seized an unopened Android TV, which they believe to be stolen, as well as digital scales, brass knuckles and $1,065 in Canadian cash.

“The 66-year-old male and 61-year-old female were released and set to appear in provincial court at a later date,” police said in a statement.

“The 71-year-old male was released with no future court date at this time.”

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
