Three people have been charged in connection to the stabbing death of a Moncton woman.
Megan Marten, 38, and Dana Livingston Mundell, 49, both of Fredericton, as well as Dylan Alexander Jackson, 28, of Doaktown, N.B., appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Tuesday and were charged with second-degree murder.
It came just hours after Codiac RCMP responded to a disturbance on Belleview Street in Moncton, where officers found 32-year-old Kyla LaPointe suffering from multiple stab wounds lying in the street.
She later died in hospital of her injuries, the RCMP said.
“A short time later, police stopped a vehicle that had been observed near the scene, in connection with the investigation,” reads a news release.
Mounties confirmed the Major Crime Unit is investigating LaPointe’s death and seek video footage from around the time of the stabbing.
Those with other information can contact the Major Crime Unit at 1-888-506-RCMP (7267) or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
All three accused have been remanded into custody and return to court on July 19.
