Driver seriously injured in Richibucto collision

A single-vehicle collision that landed one person in hospital with serious injuries is being investigated by the Richibucto RCMP.

Police say the crash happened at about 5 p.m. on June 13 along Route 505 between Richibouctou Road and Cap Lumiere Road in Richibouctou-Village, N.B. The driver of a white, four-door Toyota Camry was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Mounties say the driver remains in hospital.

“The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver, who was travelling eastbound on Route 505, lost control of the vehicle, went into the ditch and struck a utility pole,” reads a joint statement from Richibucto RCMP Cst. Vincent Falardeau and Cpl. Ricky Leblond.

Investigators say Ambulance New Brunswick, the Richibouctou-Village Fire Department, and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended the scene and are assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Police said Monday they also seek the public’s help concerning the collision.
