Police seek witnesses to attempted restaurant robbery

Police in Saint John are investigating after an attempted robbery on Tuesday at a restaurant on the city’s east side.

The Saint John Police Force responded at around 6:44 p.m. on Tuesday to a report of an attempted robbery at a restaurant in the 300-block of Rothesay Avenue.

“It is alleged that the suspect in the photographs had entered the restaurant demanding money while allegedly armed with a weapon,” said police spokesperson Sean Rocca in a statement.”

“The suspect subsequently left the restaurant without any money, but he was reportedly followed by two witnesses: a man and woman.”

Police say officers seek to identify the suspect and ask the two witnesses to come forward.
