Harbour Bridge Construction To Continue Sunday

A heads up for commuters in the Saint John area.

Officials with New Brunswick’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure said Thursday the Harbour Bridge will be reduced to one lane in both directions starting on Sunday.

“Delays are expected for travellers in both directions approaching the bridge during this period,” reads a notice.

The province says the lane reduction is to allow crews to continue work on the Saint John Harbour Bridge Rehabilitation Project.

According to the provincial government, the project, slated to cost $26.4 million, has taken place intermittently since 2021 and will continue until 2026.

The province says the phase of the project will last until Nov. 30.
