Missing Saint Andrews Man Found Dead Near Shore

The New Brunswick RCMP says a 39-year-old Saint Andrews man reported missing almost two weeks ago has been found dead.

Members of the Saint Andrews RCMP asked for the public’s help locating the man last week after he went missing on March 7.

Police reported at the time that he was last seen on March 6 at a business on Frederick Street in Saint Andrews, and was last spoken to the same day at approximately 1 p.m.

There was concern by his family and the RCMP for his well-being.

In a statement issued on Sunday, officers said they located the man’s body on a shore near Saint Andrews at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

“An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the man’s exact cause of death,” said RCMP Cpl. Jayson Hansen in the statement.

“At this time, police do not believe criminality to be a factor in his death.”

Police have not identified the man, but extended condolences to his family and the community.
