Suspects Sought After Uptown Stabbing

A 20-year-old Saint John man was stabbed early Saturday morning in an attack that police say involved three people.

Officers were called to Princess Street at around 12:50 a.m. after they received a report of a 20-year-old man who had been stabbed.

Police found the victim laying on the sidewalk and was taken to hospital, where he is currently being treated for serious injuries.

“After speaking with witnesses, officers entered a nearby bar and arrested a 19-year-old man for aggravated assault,” said Saint John Police Force Staff Sgt. Sean Rocca in a statement.

“He was later released from custody on an undertaking to appear in court on June 13, 2023.”

Investigators now believe the attack involved at least two other suspects and want the public’s help to identify them.
