A gas-and-dash that took place last month at a business in northwestern New Brunswick has prompted the local RCMP to ask the public for help in identifying a person of interest.
Mounties say it took place on Feb. 12 at around 7:30 p.m. at the Esso on Davis Road in Rivière-Verte, N.B. They say a man stopped to fill his vehicle and failed to pay.
“Through the investigation, police obtained a surveillance video photo of the individual involved,” said Sgt. Jean-Pierre Bouchard of the Saint-Léonard RCMP in a statement.
Police describe the suspect as being around six feet tall with a slim build. He wore a black hoodie, jeans, black winter boots and a black baseball hat.
The RCMP says the man drove a white Mazda four-door sedan at the time of the theft.
Anyone who recognizes the individual or the car is asked to contact the Saint-Léonard RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
