Abandoned Rural Mini Home Goes Up In Flames

A weekend fire destroyed an abandoned mini home in a rural community about 45 kilometres from Saint John, N.B.

The Greenwich Volunteer Fire Department was called to Wallace Road in Brown’s Flat, N.B., at around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

When crews arrived at the scene, located about 30 minutes away from Saint John, N.B., they found the structure fully engulfed in flames.

“Fire was quickly knocked down with crews returning early Sunday morning for remaining overhaul and inspection of the area,” reads a Facebook post from the Greenwich Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters say the mini home had previously been abandoned, so nobody was inside when the blaze began.

There’s no word yet on what may have caused the fire.
