Members of the New Brunswick RCMP arrested an Ontario man on Wednesday after he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for sexual assault and bestiality charges.
The Ontario Provincial Police issued a warrant for George Hennick, 32, in August 2021 on charges of sexual assault, compelling the commission of bestiality and failure to comply with release orders.
Southeast RCMP learned on Jan. 24 that Hennick might live in the province and conducted a joint investigation with its Crime Reduction Unit and the detachments in Richibucto and Shediac.
“On February 1, 2023, members of the Southeast District Crime Reduction Unit arrested George Hennick in Boundary Creek, N.B.,” said Richibucto RCMP Cpl. Ricky LeBlond in a news release.
Mounties say Hennick remains in police custody and will be transferred back to Ontario for an appearance in court.
