Saint John police arrested one person Tuesday in an attempted murder investigation following an incident in the city’s uptown area.
Officers responded shortly before 6 p.m. to a 911 call about a stabbing at a Sydney Street home. Police say paramedics took a 50-year-old woman to the hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators say they arrested a 22-year-old woman, who remains in custody.
“The accused and victim were known to each other,” reads a press release from the Saint John Police Force.
“There is no threat to public safety at this time. Police remain at the scene as the Major Crime and Family Protection Units continue to investigate.”
