The Government of New Brunswick unveiled its list of 2022’s most popular baby names on Thursday, and it looks like many are trending for the second year in a row.
“Congratulations to all parents who celebrated the arrival of a child,” said Jill Green, minister of Service New Brunswick, in a news release.
Noah was New Brunswick’s most popular baby name in 2022, moving up from second place last year. The first-place winner for 2021, Liam, is now in second place.
William remained in third place for the second year in a row.
Other popular names in 2022 were Jack, Thomas, Oliver, Benjamin, Olivia, Emma, Amelia, Jacob, Theodore, Owen, Henry, Logan, Levi, James, Violet, Charlotte and Hudson.
Charlotte, Levi, Benjamin, Thomas, Oliver and Olivia made the top 10 in 2021.
Figures from Service New Brunswick show that 5,208 babies were born and registered with the province from Jan. 1 to Dec. 15, a decrease from the 6,443 babies born in 2021.
