Mounties arrested a 44-year-old man from Temperance Vale, N.B., earlier this month after officers seized various drugs and weapons in Geary, N.B.
Oromocto RCMP were called at around 3 a.m. on Sept. 3 about a suspicious vehicle stopped in the middle of the road on Route 7. On arrival, they arrested the vehicle’s driver without incident.
A vehicle search turned up large amounts of meth, cocaine, hydromorphone pills and contraband cigarettes.
Police say they also seized weapons, ammunition, counterfeit vehicle inspection stickers and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Investigators say Robert Wayne Waugh appeared in Fredericton provincial court the same day and was charged with the following:
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of ammunition while prohibited
- Possession of contraband cigarettes
Waugh returned to court on Sept. 9 to face additional charges for the possession of cocaine and an opioid for the purposes of trafficking.
He will return to court on Sept. 29 to enter a plea.
