A provincial court judge in Moncton charged a 30-year-old man Tuesday after an alleged armed robbery on Monday evening at a business on Main Street.
The Codiac RCMP says an individual approached officers shortly after 7 p.m. to report an armed robbery in progress. Once on the scene, police found and arrested the suspect, who brandished a knife.
Investigators say Darrell Dean Evans appeared in Moncton Provincial Court to face one count of armed robbery. Evans will return to court Thursday afternoon for a bail hearing.
“As a result of pro-active patrols in the Moncton area, members were able to respond immediately and contain the situation,” said S/Sgt. Thierry Malenfant with the Codiac Regional RCMP.
“No one was injured during the incident.”
Police say an investigation continues.
