Motorcycle Crash Kills Sackville Senior

A 72-year-old Sackville man died Tuesday after a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in Saint-Léonard, N.B.

Saint-Léonard RCMP, the Saint-Léonard fire department and Ambulance New Brunswick responded at around 2 p.m. to a motorcycle crash on Route 17.

Mounties believe the crash occurred when the motorcycle crossed the shoulder line and lost control.

The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene of his injuries.

Police say a collision reconstructionist and a member of New Brunswick’s coroner’s office are involved in the investigation.

“The cause of the crash remains under investigation and an autopsy will be scheduled to determine the man’s exact cause of death,” read a statement issued by the New Brunswick RCMP.

“The highway was closed for approximately two hours, but has since been re-opened.”
