A single-vehicle crash in Cocagne, N.B., Wednesday claimed the life of a teenage boy from Dixon Point, N.B.
Richibucto RCMP, Cocagne Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick responded shortly after 1 a.m. to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 535 in Cocagne.
Police believe the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the road and rolled over. The 17-year-old male driver was ejected from the vehicle.
First responders brought the teen to the hospital, where he died as a result of “medical distress.”
“An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation,” said the New Brunswick RCMP in a statement.
“An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the boy’s exact cause of death.”
Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
