A young kitten is “living his best life” after being saved by the New Brunswick SPCA last month.
NBSPCA Animal Protection Officers responded on July 26 to a call about an injured kitten in Northumberland County. An orange tabby cat was found to have a “significant injury” to his right eye.
The New Brunswick SPCA took custody of the kitten and rushed it into surgery the next day to have the abscessed eye removed.
The organization says although he was in pain, the kitten, who now goes by the name Mike Wazowski, has kept up his high spirits, purring since the rescue.
“The staff at the Bathurst SPCA Animal Shelter helped nurse Wazowski as he recovered from his surgery,” said the New Brunswick SPCA in a post on Facebook.
“While visiting the team at the Bathurst Shelter, NBSPCA Executive Director Lesley Rogers was captivated by Mike’s resilience and purr-fectly positive attitude.”
“Mike is living his best life with Lesley and the rest of the Rogers’ animal crew in Fredericton.”
