Team N.B. Picks Up First Medal At Canada Summer Games

New Brunswick picked up its first medal from the 2022 Canada Summer Games in Niagara Falls, Ont. over the weekend.

Para swimmer Jesse Canney claimed a silver medal on the first day of competition Sunday in the men’s 200-metre / 400-metre freestyle para event, held at the Eleanor Misener Aquatics Centre.

Sunday marked the first-ever Women’s Box Lacrosse competition in the history of the Canada Games. Macey Hatfield, 16, of Saint John, N.B., scored the first-ever official goal for the competition.

She scored three goals in New Brunswick’s 8-1 victory over Prince Edward Island.
