Third Man Charged In Death Of Joedin Leger

Another man was charged Friday for the death of an 18-year-old from Moncton.

Police responded to a report of shots fired at a home on Logan Lane on April 25. Officers found 18-year-old Joedin Leger suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died of his injuries.

RCMP Cpl. Hans Ouellette says 23-year-old Jerek John England was arrested Thursday in connection with the murder. He appeared in Moncton Provincial Court the next day and was charged with first-degree murder.

“The RCMP would like to thank the community for their assistance and support during this investigation,” said Ouellette in a news release.

“Our thoughts remain with Joedin Leger’s family and loved ones.”

Jerek John England is the third person to be charged with first-degree murder in connection to Leger’s death, with the other two being 18-year-old Riley Robert Sheldon Philips and 20-year-old Hunter Nash England.

All three have been remanded into police custody and will return to court on June 27.

The investigation remains ongoing, so anyone with tips about this murder is asked to contact the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit or Crime Stoppers.
