A 34-year-old man is in custody after being charged with trafficking several substances, including a drug more deadly than fentanyl.
Jason Duguay of Des Acadiens Boulevard in Bertrand, N.B., went before a Moncton judge Monday for a scheduled bail hearing.
It was put off until Friday to give Duguay time to find a lawyer.
Duguay is charged with three counts of possessing cocaine, meth and isotonitazene, also known as “Shady 8,” for the purpose of trafficking.
Shady 8 is an opioid believed to be stronger than fentanyl and the culprit behind recent fatal overdoses.
