Woman Hospitalized After Fly-Away Hockey Puck Incident

A Moncton woman was taken to hospital Friday night after being struck by a hockey puck.

The Moncton Fire Department responded to the Avenir Centre around 7:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a person who was hit by a puck. The Moncton Wildcats, the hub city’s junior hockey team, were playing the Charlottetown Islanders at the time.

Crews assisted paramedics as the person was taken to hospital.

There is currently no word on her condition.
