A 15-year-old is in custody after a series of incidents in Riverview earlier this week.
Codiac RCMP responded to a report of a stolen pickup truck shortly after 10 a.m. on Monday. Police say the theft took place at a business on the corner of Archibald and Dufferin Street.
After several attempts to locate the vehicle and the driver, police stopped the truck on a dirt road deploying a tire deflation device. The driver attempted to flee the scene on foot but was arrested by police shortly after.
The 15-year-old appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Tuesday. They faced several charges, including assault with a weapon, flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, resisting arrest and theft over $5,000.
Due to a court-ordered publication ban, the youth’s name is not being shared.
They were remanded into custody and will return to court on April 20.
An investigation remains ongoing.
